HKBU honours outstanding staff with awards

HKBU hosted the Awards Presentation for Outstanding Performance 2024 on 2 May to recognise the exceptional performance of academic and teaching staff.

A total of 11 staff were honoured with the President’s Awards for Outstanding Performance in recognition of their remarkable achievements and contributions in Teaching, Scholarly Work and Service. Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, presented the awards and congratulated the winners.

The recipients of the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance are as follows:

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Early Career Teaching

  • Ms Anna Qin, Assistant Professor, Academy of Visual Arts

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching (Individual)

  • Mr James Shea, Associate Professor, Department of Humanities and Creative Writing

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Team Teaching

Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes Team

  • Dr Glos Ho, Director of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes, Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes (Team Leader)
  • Dr Wendy Huang, Associate Professor, Department of Sport, Physical Education and Health
  • Dr Edmond Tsang, Associate Professor of Practice, Academy of Music
  • Dr Nick Zhang, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance as Early Career Researcher

  • Dr Yu Yuanyuan, Assistant Professor, School of Chinese Medicine - Teaching and Research Division
  • Dr Zhao Jun, Assistant Professor, Department of Biology

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Scholarly Work

  • Professor Cheung Yiu-ming, Chair Professor in Artificial Intelligence, Department of Computer Science

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Research Supervision

  • Professor Li Min, Professor, School of Chinese Medicine - Teaching and Research Division

President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Service

  • Dr Kwok Wai-luen, Associate Professor, Department of Religion and Philosophy

Faculty/School Performance Awards, General Education Teaching Award, Innovation Awards and Knowledge Transfer Award were also presented during the ceremony.
