The University welcomes applications from international students who are seeking admission to full-time undergraduate studies. Five scholarships of HK$75,000 each (approx. US$9,600) per year will be offered to outstanding international students.
The University
Hong Kong Baptist University, founded in 1956, is a public-funded university with a Christian heritage within a Chinese cultural setting. It is well established in the Hong Kong tertiary education sector as an institution of academic excellence with a determination to provide whole-person education to its students while meeting the needs and expectations of the society it serves.
Pioneering and broad-based interactive courses, academic excellence embodying a balance between teaching and research, an international perspective, and a commitment to quality assurance have become hallmarks of the University.
The University has the authority to confer degrees at all levels, including associate, bachelor's, master's and doctor of philosophy as well as honorary degrees. The University at present offers more than 50 courses at undergraduate and taught postgraduate levels. There are 3 Faculties (Arts, Science, Social Sciences), 4 Schools (Business, Chinese Medicine, Communication, Continuing Education), 1 Academy (Visual Arts) and 1 College (International Education), with a total of 24 academic departments and nearly 500 full-time teaching staff who are highly qualified and experienced in teaching and research in their own areas of specialisation. At present, there are about 5,000 undergraduate students and 3,000 postgraduate students. HKBU puts dual emphasis on teaching and research, and has established 27 research centres to nurture academic excellence.
International Perspectives
A series of international student exchange programmes has been introduced to promote cross-cultural activities and enhance the concept of globalisation among students. In the academic year 2006-07, over 200 international students from universities in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America studied in the University for one semester or one year under various academic exchange schemes. In addition, there were about 280 mainland students pursuing undergraduate studies here. Some of them have been recruited from leading universities such as Tsinghua University and Nanjing University.

University Admission Requirements
- Senior High School Diploma or GCEOL / GCSE, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University (please click here for more information).
- Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognised university / college.
Course Structure
Most undergraduate courses require full-time attendance for three academic years.

Application Fee
Please fill in the application form with FULL details. The completed application form, together with the application fee and photocopies of the applicant's academic results, should reach Academic Registry on or before April.
Applicants should settle the application fee of HK$250 (equivalent to US$32) by bank draft or visa card. The bank draft should be made payable to "Hong Kong Baptist University".
For visa card payment, please download the Credit Card Payment Form from the website of the Academic Registry at http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/~ar. Cash will NOT be accepted.
Fees & Expenses
- Tuition Fee: HK$75,000 (equivalent to approx. US$9,600)
- Accommodation Fee: HK$12,000 (equivalent to approx. US$1,540)
[A double occupancy room at the Student Residence Halls for 10 months] - Monthly Expenses: HK$5,000 (equivalent to approx. US$640)
