Visit to Member Institutions in North America (November 2007)

In late November 2007, Prof. Ah Chung Tsoi visited three member institutions in North America . The purpose of his visit is to collect members' ideas on the future development of LEWI.

On 28 November, Prof. Tsoi visited Simon Fraser University where he met with Dr. Nello Angerilli, Associate Vice President (Students and International), Dr. Norbert Haunerland, Associate Vice President (Research) and Dr. Tom Perry, Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. On 29 November, Prof. Tsoi visited Baylor University . Baylor University arranged a whole day program for Prof. Tsoi to meet with the senior management of the university, which included Dr. John Lilley and Dr. Naymond Keathley, President and Senior Vice Provost of Baylor University. On 30 November, Prof. Tsoi visited Mercer University . He was received by Dr. Eric Spears, Director of International Programs and LEWI representative at Mercer. Prof. Tsoi had a number of meetings with the Mercer faculty, including Dr. Richard Swindle, Senior Vice President.

Visit by Shanghai University ( 21 January 2008 )

Dr. Sun Shaoyi, Associate Director, School of Film and Television Technology, Shanghai University, visited LEWI on 21 January 2008 . Our Associate Director, Dr. Emilie Yeh, introduced him to the membership and programs of LEWI.

Visit by Tsinghua University ( 31 January 2008 )

Prof. Yin Hong, Associate Dean, School of Communication and Journalism & Director, Center for Film and Television Studies, Tsinghua University, visited LEWI on 31 January. Dr. Emilie Yeh greeted him and introduced him to the various programs of the institute such as the Visitorship Program and the Resident Graduate Scholarhip (RGS) Program.
