CG Forum
In pursuing its mission to improve the quality of corporate governance policy and practice in the region, the Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy (CCGFP) and the MSc in Corporate Governance and Directorship (MScCGD) programme of the School of Business jointly and regularly host the CG Forum series. Prominent business leaders, distinguished professionals and academics are invited to deliver talks at the Forum. The Forum is opened to all interested individuals free of charge.

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Corporate Governance Conference (August 23-24, 2007)

Built on the success of The Inaugural Asia-Pacific Corporate Governance Conference held in August 2005 and to fulfill our mission to improve the quality of public debates on major corporate governance and related issues, CCGFP held the 2nd Asia-Pacific Corporate Governance Conference on 23 -24 August 2007 with the main theme on ˇ§Governance and Performance of Family Businessˇ¨.

Mr. Peter Lee, Chairman of Hysan Group and Prof. Zhang Wei-ying, renowned economist and Dean of Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, and other distinguished experts served as keynote and main speakers. Three panel sessions were held during the Conference. Directors, board members and senior executives of local family business were invited to serve as panelists of the first two panel sessions to give a practitionersˇ¦view.
Distinguished scholars and an entrepreneur from the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong joined the Conference as panelists of the third panel session to address the topic from an academic perspective. Around 200 people participated in the Conference and it was insightful and relevant as expected.

Symposium on Bank Governance and Risk Management (December 19, 2005)

Jointly organized with Moon Valley Foundation, the Symposium attracted over 200 local and Mainland corporate leaders and professionals of various industries (especially in the banking sector), regulators and academics to attend the Symposium. The Symposium provided a useful platform for distinguished speakers from Hong Kong, Mainland and Asia-Pacific region to address and exchange their views on contemporary issues on bank control and compliance, enlighten the audience with their insight into the significance of corporate governance in banking sectors and the crucial role these organizations taking in the economy.

The Inaugural Asia-Pacific Corporate Governance Conference (August 25-26, 2005)

The Conference has been viewed as the largest one ever held in Hong Kong in promoting Hong Kong on its leadership position on corporate governance in Asia. Over 200 renowned scholars and professionals across the world attended this 2-day conference, featuring over 70 academic paper presentations and two public forums. It successfully pooled great business minds together from different parts of the world to work for the great benefit of all business communities. The CCGFP will continually dedicate its effort to organize such splendid Conference in promoting high-quality research on corporate governance.
