Artgallery
The setup of Artgallery is to enrich users' enjoyment and appreciation of visual arts. It extends from Level 3 to Level 7
next to the staircase and displays graphic arts, paintings and literary exhibits. The banner design is also available in the
Calligraphy, Sayings and Writings of Famous Chinese Writers.

Disabled Users Reading Room
A reading room is available on Level 4 of the Main Library with special furniture and equipment for the visually and physically impaired.
In addition to multimedia workstations, voice input and output software, magnifying device, a printer, a scanner, and a telephone are provided in the Disabled Users Reading Room.

Faculty Reading Room
Six individual faculty reading rooms are available for faculty and administrative equivalent staff to pursue research and study privately.
The area is on a "first-come-first-served" basis. Please make reservation at the Main Library's Circulation Counter.
When doing check-in and check-out, eligible users should leave their staff cards in exchange for the keys at the Circulation Counter before
they are authorized to use the rooms. The rooms must also be vacated 5 minutes prior to library closing. Individuals who have reserved reading rooms
are responsible for clearing the rooms of papers, books, etc.

Multimedia Learning Centre
The setup of the Multimedia Learning Centre (MLC) on Level 4 is to encourage and enable students to make use
of the multimedia materials for independent learning. It provides access to a variety of multimedia materials,
including CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, computer software, video recordings, and audiocassettes for teaching, learning, and research needs.
Computing Facilities

The Centre makes available over 50 PCs equipped with various software applications and access to the Internet
and University networked information resources. Over thirty PCs are located in the computer laboratory,
which is also available to library users whenever the lab is not scheduled for library workshops and seminars.
Students are always encouraged to view the Computer Lab Schedule
to make sure that it is available.

Audio-Visual Equipment

The Centre provides 30 AV carrels, each equipped with a full set of audio-visual equipment for viewing and listening
to the audio-visual materials kept in the Centre. Trained staff members are on duty at the Counter to assist users
in using equipment and locating materials.
To use the audio-visual equipment and multimedia materials, please register at the Counter first. Faculty and
administrative equivalent staff may check out multimedia materials for a week. Students can check out CDs,
CD-ROMs, VCDs and DVDs for four days. Other AV materials may be borrowed for presentation with endorsement of lecturers.
Music Listening Area

A comfortable music listening area is available with couches, mini Hi-Fi, and plasma TV for watching news or cultural programs
from local TV stations or BUTV, the TV channel of the University.

Group Viewing Rooms

Two group viewing rooms that can accommodate up to 20 persons are available for viewing or listening to AV materials.
Interested staff and students should make reservation at the Counter or submit the booking form online at the library homepage.

Postgraduate Reading Room
The Postgraduate Reading Room, located on Level 5, is open to postgraduate students for study purpose only. The room is on a "first-come-first-served" basis
with no check in / check out procedures. Nevertheless, the room must be vacated 5 minutes prior to library closing.
Users are responsible for keeping the room in a neat and orderly condition. Smoking, eating, or drinking beverage is not permitted.
Do not leave any valuables unattended. The Library is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items. Any items left after vacating
the room will be removed without prior notice.
Users misusing the room or disturbing others will be required to leave the room and the Library immediately. The Library reserves the
right to inspect the room even when it is in use.

South West Study Area
The specified area is open to all users for study purpose during regular Library hours. It may remain in
service after Library opening hours during examination periods. For special opening hours, please refer to Opening Hours.

Computers (for Searching)
The Library has set up around 90 computer workstations on each level of the Library building and the Chinese Medicine Library for
information searching purposes. Users can search the Library Catalogue, make use of subscribed electronic resources, surf the Internet, etc., with these computers.

Photocopiers
Octopus card photocopying machines are available in the Library. Photocopying charge is HK$ 0.3 per page. Please be reminded that
you are required to observe the Copyright Ordinance pertaining to photocopying practices.

Printers
Students with an Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) Novell account can simply log on with the assigned ID and password.

Library users without an ITSC Novell account can purchase the Library
Computer Printing Card (HK$ 15 for 50 pages and HK$ 30 for 100 pages)
at the Circulation Counter or Multimedia Learning Centre for access to networked printing. Printing charge is HK$ 0.3 per page.
A color laser printer is also available in the Multimedia Learning Centre. Color printing card can be purchased at the Multimedia Learning Centre Counter.
The price for the colour printing card is HK$ 20, that prints A3 paper at HK$ 5, and A4 at HK$ 2.5 each.

Wireless Network
You can enjoy the convenience of using your own notebook computer and pocket PC to access the Internet and networked
library electronic and information resources on all floors of the Library and in Chinese Medicine Library. If you need technical
