The Computer Laboratory
of the Multimedia Learning Centre (MLC) is primarily used for
workshops and seminars
organized by Library staff to promote the use of Library resources and services; it is open to students
when not in use for workshops and seminars. Staff may book the Lab only when other Laboratories on
campus are not available.

Booking by staff

The Computer Laboratory may be reserved by ACADEMIC STAFF for conducting seminars and workshops that are related to use of Library collections and/or subscribed electronic resources for eligible Library users.
|

The Lab is available for booking during NON-PEAK hours of the day, i.e. 9:00 a.m. ¡V 12:00 noon, or after 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
|

|
The Lab may be reserved for a minimum of 20, and a maximum of 33 HKBU students.
|

All bookings should be done online one week to one month in advance.
|

Please refer to the online schedule of the Computer Lab on the Library homepage prior to submission of the form.

Confirmation of the booking will be notified by email if approved by the supervisor of MLC. The MLC reserves the right to decline the reservation that does not meet the above criteria.

The MLC staff reserves the right to reassign the Lab to other users if the applicant does not show up within 15 minutes after the booking time.
|

|
The Library may provide support to technical problems when full-time I.T. staff is available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.

Conduct of Users

Students may use the Lab on a "first-come-first served" basis.
|

Users are responsible for keeping the room in a neat and orderly condition.
|

|
Talking on mobile phone, smoking, eating, drinking beverage, playing online game, downloading or uploading illegal or obscene files is not permitted. The Library reserves the right to stop users from engaging in these activities.
|

Users misusing the room will be recorded and demerit points will be accumulated in the users' record.
|

|
Users are advised not to leave any valuables unattended. The Library is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items.
|

|
Unattended items left on desks for an extended period of time will be removed by Library staff without prior notice.
|

|
Users are advised to take good care of the computing equipment, and turn off the PC before leaving.
