Mr Raymond Kwok is a leading advocate for the whole person development of young people in Hong Kong society. He is currently Director of Eagle Wide Limited, Gearing Development Limited and Ocean Holiday Limited. He also serves as Independent Manager of the Incorporated Management Committee of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kwok Yat Wai College. His significant and ongoing philanthropic activities have been recognised by the award of Distinguished Volunteer by the Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong in 2007. Mr Kwok is also recognised as an Honorary Permanent President of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation.
 
Mr Kwok’s formative experiences as a graduate of St. Paul’s College in Hong Kong and studying Economics at the University of Western Ontario in Canada inspired him to the value of whole person development. Upon his return to Hong Kong, Mr Kwok embarked upon and enjoyed a successful career in the marketing sector. Driven to honour the gift of education that their father had made, Mr Kwok and his brothers offered a significant donation of HK$6 million in 1996 to establish the Kwok Yat Wai College in Tin Shui Wai. Named in honor of their father, this TWGH college continues to fulfill its whole person mission, being recently recognised with the Hong Kong Award for Environmental Excellence 2011 (Secondary Schools). Mr Kwok and his brothers have continued to take a keen and material interest in the welfare of the institution and the wellbeing of its students, donating to support learning activities and new learning facilities for the benefit of all students.
 
In fact, being a Christian, Mr Kwok is known as a leading advocate for whole person development in Hong Kong through his broad support of the development of young people. In the name of Eagle Wide Limited, and working with the Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong, he has invested in the path-breaking project called “When Teens Meet Angels”. This provides positive support for teen mothers to enhance their self-sufficiency, boost social inclusion, and create synergies between social workers, business leaders, and community groups. Mr Kwok, through his family foundation, has also been supportive to the Breakthrough Youth Development Programmes and Media Ministries.

It is therefore a source of immense pride to the University community that, since 2011, Mr Kwok and his brothers have shared their vision of whole person development. In 2011–12, Mr Kwok and his brothers, in the name of the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, made a generous donation of $30 million to the University. $26.5 million is earmarked for the Mr Kwok Yat Wai and Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Graduate School Development Fund and $3.5 million establishes The Faith‧Hope‧Love Endowment Fund to support programmes for the development of student character. Again, in 2012 Mr Kwok made a further donation of HK$2 million in support of the Character Development Fund. In 2013, in the name of the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, Mr Kwok pledged to make an annual donation of HK$500,000 for the student exchange programme, and further donated HK$500,000 for investments in the School of Chinese Medicine.
 
Mr Kwok has contributed, through his philanthropic acts, to the advancement of community development. Mr Kwok’s strong passion for the whole person development of young people in Hong Kong society as well as his generous support to the University for the development of student character in the spirit of whole person education are highly recognised.
