Enhanced Jacket Images Display of Book & AV Items on

Web OPAC and Monthly New Book List

Effective from November 17, 2008, library patrons can find an enhanced jacket images display of book & audio-visual items on Web OPAC and Monthly New Book List. This new service is supported by a new in-house developed computer program which can retrieve jacket images from the World Wide Web and in-house image databases.

The provision of these jacket images not only makes the Web OPAC and Monthly New Book List more attractive and colorful, but can also enable library patrons to find more information related to those specific titles. By clicking on the jacket images, one can retrieve additional information such as book summaries, tables of contents, author biographies, etc. instantly.
