Applying on Qualifications other than HKALE (Non-JUPAS / Direct Application)
 
 

UGC Funded Undergraduate Degree Programmes

Applicants who are applying for admission on the basis of qualifications other than HKALE results should apply directly to the University. Applicants who are currently enrolled as full-time or sandwich degree students in any of the nine JUPAS participating institutions should also apply through this route even if they are applying on the strength of their current and/or past HKALE results. However, in accordance with guidelines on the inter-institutional transfer of students, repeating of full-time bachelor degree study across institutions, irrespective of whether there is a change of program or discipline, is normally not allowed.

Who should apply through Non-JUPAS?

  1. All other applicants seeking admission on the strength of qualifications other than HKALE results
  2. Non-local applicants
  3. Citizens of Mainland China
    Starting from the 2009 entry, citizens of Mainland China entering Hong Kong for the purpose of education with a student visa/ entry permit issued by the Director of Immigration should follow either one of the following routes for admission:
    (i) applicants DO NOT sit for the 2009 National Joint Entrance Examination (NJEE) in the Mainland or who want to apply on the strength of other qualifications (apart from NJEE and HKALE) should apply through Non-JUPAS admission scheme;
    (ii) applicants attending the 2009 NJEE should apply for admission via the University's Admission Scheme for Mainland Students.  Relevant details can be found here.
