Concentration Assignment for BBA (non-ACCT) Students of the 2009 Intake

BBA (non-ACCT) students admitted via JUPAS or promoted from Foundation Programme will be assigned to either of the six Concentrations (APECON , CBS, FIN, HRM, ISEM , or MKT) during the semester break of Year 1. That is, you will know which Concentration you have been assigned to shortly before Semester 2 starts.

We will first consider your Admission Score, GPA of Semester 1, and statement of non-academic and other achievements, then your preferences for Concentrations.

Admission Score
For local students: Admission Score = HKALE results
For mainland students: Admission Score = JEE Score + Interview Score + Foundation Programme cGPA

Statement of non-academic and other achievements

  1. Please refer to www.hkbu.edu.hk/~bba/assignment2009.php for the lists of non-academic and other achievements respectively for local and mainland students and fill in the statement (download HERE). Please write or type clearly.
  2. Please submit ONLY the achievements made over the past 3 years and provide valid documents of proof, e.g. certificates, certifying letters duly stamped or signed by the organization, etc. Achievements without valid documents of proof will not be accepted. Please number the documents in the order you list your achievements in the statement and mark clearly.
  3. Achievements in the same area, e.g. running, will only be counted once and the highest mark will be counted. BBA Programme Office reserves the final decision.
  4. Please sign the statement and submit it in person to WLB801 no later than 5pm, 4 December 2009 (Friday). Late submissions will not be handled. Students are only allowed to SUBMIT ONCE; further/revised submissions will not be accepted.
  5. If you do not have any listed achievements, please do not submit this statement.
  6. BBA Programme Office reserves the final decision of accepting or not accepting your achievement.

Preferences for Concentrations

  • Please fill in the form (download HERE), sign it and submit it in person to WLB801 no later than 5pm, 23 December 2009 (Wednesday). Late submissions will not be handled and we shall assume you are indifferent to the choice of Concentrations.
  • Indicate your preferences by numbering the six Concentrations from 1 (most preferred) to 6 (least preferred). Please make sure you have put a number next to ALL of the Concentrations.
  • If you do not put a number or if you do not submit the form, we shall assume you are indifferent to which Concentration you will be assigned to. That is, we will assign you to any concentration.
  • The form can only be submitted ONCE. Re-submissions are not allowed.
