| Three
of our BBA students, Yau Sze-Nga Vicky (Year 3 HRM),
Ho Man Yi Michelle (Year 3 CBS), and Jenny Choy (Year
3 FIN) teamed up to represent HKBU to compete in the
Business Administration Paper of the Year 2004 Competition,
organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Business
Students (HKFBS) and have achieved outstanding results.

With
an excellent marketing plan for Zurich Insurance
Group (Hong Kong), our team captured the 1st
Runner-up, Innovative Idea Award, Audienceˇ¦s
Choice and Best Presenter awarded to Vicky Yau.
This
is an undoubtedly invaluable experience to the
three students. ˇ§The Business Administration
Paper 2004 was one of the highlights of our
university life. The feedback we received at
every stage of the competition was extremely
detailed, insightful and constructive and allowed
us to constantly refine the plan and think about
our plan in a commercial manner rather than
as a purely academic exercise. Winning so many
prizes was the culmination of 4 months of hard
work with tremendous support from the business
faculty, especially the Department of Management
and our honorable advisor, Dr. Alicia Leungˇ¨,
said the team.

This year, HKFBS
has chosen "Globalization --- Sound Marketing
Mix for a Global Insurer" to be the theme for
the competition and a total of 140 teams from the
eight tertiary institutions have participated in the
competition. Four finalists, together with a team
from Tsinghua University were selected to contend
for the Champion in the Oral Presentation Day held
on 19 Feb 2005 (Sat), which was the highlight of the
whole Competition. The finalists were required to
present their proposals to the Evaluation Committee,
which comprised respectful members from the academic
and business fields. This year, team from the Chinese
University of Hong Kong won the Championship and students
of The Hong Kong Science and Technology University
was the second runner-up.
