Minor

Students can make use of the units from Complementary Studies Distribution requirements to create a minor in their studies. These units are: two 3-unit subjects outside their own major, and 9 units of free electives. The School of Business offers the following minor programmes:

Students are required to complete the specified subjects listed below to claim a minor in respective discipline. The creation of minors by individual students is permitted subject to the approval of the major and minor Departments concerned.

The elective subjects III & IV do not include BUS 1190 Mathematics for Business and BUS 1200 Statistics for Business. Students can only take these two subjects under special circumstances if these are the pre-requisite subject(s) of a higher level subject which they want to take.
Students must take at least 6 units of Level II or above subjects.
Students can take a maximum of 6 units subjects with the same subject code of ACCT, ECON, FIN, HRM, MGNT or MKT (except BUS).
Students who have taken any of the above subjects in their major programme have to take additional elective subject(s) to fulfil the minor programme requirement (subject to University’s approval).
