| Since 1986, the Department of Biology has offered a three-year
undergraduate programme - the BSc/BSc (Hons) Degree Course - Applied Biology Major.
Eligibility for admission into the course is based upon results of the Hong
Kong A-level Examination. The course comprises 96
units of academic subjects. Most of these units are biology subjects (core
and elective). Students are required to study subjects in other fields such
as chemistry, computing, religion and philosophy and English language. In the final-year there is a choice of two concentrations, either Biotechnology or Environmental Science. A two year part time M.Sc. (Environmental and Public Health Management) program is offered to help students to develop a systematic approach in the proper management of the natural environment. M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees are also offered. These awards being subject to satisfactory completion of a research programme. |
