The need for broadly educated engineers, technologists, health professionals, managers who understand why environmental infrastructure deteriorates, why SARS broke out and how the effects of this can be controlled effectively has been recognized internationally and in particular, Hong Kong. In response to the growing demand from employers in this rapidly developing field, Hong Kong Baptist University, Croucher Institute for Environmental Sciences launched a new MSc in Environmental and Public Health Management in 2001. This post-graduate programme is intended to meet the needs of graduate engineers, health professionals, architects, business administrators, community leaders and other professionals whose work is concerned with environmental quality and public health. The masters programme is designed to conform to an interdisciplinary approach where the environmental, technical, economic and social aspects of the concerned issues will be adequately covered. Other than completing the programme in totality, selective study of individual modules is well-suited to professionals who intend to gain thorough knowledge of new areas in environmental and public health management. |
