co-hosted the seminar on “The Twelve Five-Year Plan
- Changes on National Policy and Opportunities for
Hong Kong’s Import and Export” (「從內地「十二五」規劃看國策的轉變和香港出入口的機遇)
on 11 January 2011 (Tuesday) at HKBU.
Dr. Cheng Yuk-Shing (鄭毓盛博士), Associate Professor
of Department of Economics, School of Business, HKBU,
was invited as the speaker. In the seminar, Dr. Cheng
analyzed the changes on China’s economic policy between
2011 and 2015 which focuses on the expansion of domestic
demand and consumption. He also shared his view on
how Hong Kong’s SMEs in the import and export sector
could make use of the opportunities brought by the
changes. Over 60 SMEs entrepreneurs and professionals
attended the seminar and had a fruitful discussion
on the topic.
The seminar is a part of the research project on
“The Road of Development of SMEs – The Present and
Future” conducted by HKCIEA and IED. The project aims
at analyzing the economic environment and business
challenges facing the SMEs in the import and export
sector and its related industries as well as proposing
recommendations to encounter these challenges. It
is funded by the SME Development Fund of the Trade
and Industry Department of the HKSAR Government.
