HKBU to host Symposium on Cross-Border
Listing in Hong Kong: Corporate
Governance and Regulation Issues
Key issues of corporate governance and
regulation issues related to
cross-border listing in Hong Kong will be the focus
at the forthcoming
symposium to be co-organized by the Centre for Corporate
Governance &
Financial Policy (CCGFP) of Hong Kong Baptist University
(HKBU) and the
Moon Valley Foundation to be held at the Conrad Hotel,
Hong Kong, on 9
May 2007.
The one-day Symposium features a public
platform aiming at promoting
corporate governance of cross-border listed companies
in Hong Kong. It
also provides a forum for corporate executives, institutional
investors,
market intermediaries and regulators to exchange views
and ideas on
important cross-border listing issues. The Symposium
consists of keynote
speeches and two panel discussion sessions.
Invited keynote speakers include Mr.
Edward Chow (周光暉 Deputy Chairman
of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors and Chairman
of the China
Infrastructure Group Holdings); Mr. Richard Williams
(韋思齊Head of
Listing Division, HKEx); Ms. Han Ping (韓萍 Deputy Director
of the
Department of International Cooperation, China Securities
Regulatory
Commission); Mr. Dominic Leung (梁家駒Chairman of Ping
An Life Insurance
Company of China Limited); and Ms Barbara Shiu (邵蓓蘭Vice
Chairman,
Hong Kong Securities Institute).
The Panel Sessions on Corporate Governance
Issues and the Need for and
Challenges of Regulatory Enforcement respectively
comprise five to six
distinguished panelists from Hong Kong and the Mainland.
They include
HKEx management, H-Share company CEOs, IPO sponsors,
investment
analysts, auditors and regulators.
