Since 1999, the School formed a Focused Research Area (FRA) on corporate governance and financial reporting. Researchers are from different business disciplines including accounting, law, finance, economics and management. These scholars have extensive research, publications and consulting experience in the areas. Their papers in CG topics have been published in leading international journals such as Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting & Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Accounting and Financial Management, and Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, and Corporate Governance: An International Review.

On the education front, the School launched a ground-breaking study programme, MSc in Corporate Governance and Directorship (MScCGD), in January 2005. The Programme adopts a comprehensive approach to equip its students in various aspects on corporate governance, and to foster corporate leaders and directors who would play a leading role in shaping business climate with sound corporate governance.

By working closely together with the School and the MScCGD Programme, CCGFP brings people together working towards our common goal in enhancing corporate governance in the region. Academics serve as lecturers, researchers, consultants, trainers and guest speakers. Distinguishing professionals and business leaders are invited to serve as guest speakers. Professionals, executives and directors join the School as MScCGD students and become our most valued alumni. CCGFP has successfully founded a place for interactions and cultivation of experts and expertise in corporate governance and financial policy.
