Dr. Alex Lau, Associate Professor of Accountancy and Law

has been appointed as the council member of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006 and the member of the Inland Revenue Board of Review for a period of three years from 1 January 2006 .

has been listed in the Legal Who's Who 2004, directory of top Hong Kong lawyers, published by Hughes Castell.

was presented the Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology at the 14th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning held in Jacksonville, Florida, USA last month.

The University nominated Mr. Lau for this award in recognition of his commitment to teaching and learning developments through the innovative use of technology and on the basis of his good teaching evaluation results. Mr. Lau motivates students and assists them in reviewing lessons by recording his lectures and sending students voice files via e-mail 15 minutes after class.
