Upcoming Events

• Dr. Wan Guanghua, Senior Economist of Asian Development Bank, will present "China's Trade Imbalances: The Role of FDI" in the departmental seminar, to be held on 12, December, 2008.

• The Department will organize a session "Regional inequality in productive efficiency, productivity and innovation in China" in the 5th Biennial Conference of Hong Kong Economic Association to be held in Chendu, China during 15 - 16 December, 2008.

• The Department is working with the Research Center for International Economics of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing, China and University of Washington, Seattle, USA to establish an international trade workshop series. The first workshop will be held on the campus of UIBE, Beijing, China. The second one will be held on our campus, February 28, 2009.

• The Department is hosting and jointly organising the eighth annual conference on "Korea and the World Economy" on July 9-10, 2009.

• The Department organized International Trade Workshop on November 22, 2008 in Beijing. This workshop was jointly organized with Research Center for International Economics at the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing. Professor Wong Kar-yiu was the Chair of the organizing committee.

• Dr. Cheng Yuk-shing and Dr. Kwok Yun-kwong colleagues presented two papers on November 22 in the International Trade Workshop held by the Department of Economic, Hong Kong Baptist University and Research Center for International Economics at the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing.

• Professor KC Joanna Lam has been appointed as External Member to Programme Validation and Review Committee by Hong Kong Shue Yan University from November 2008 to June 2010.
