Introduction

This is one of the conference series on "Korea and the World Economy." Previous ones were held in Seoul, Korea (July 2002, 2004, 2006), Seattle, USA (Aug. 2003, Dec. 2005).

Economists, policy makers, and practitioners will present their latest theoretical and empirical findings on Korea,Asia-Pacific, and the world economy. Some of the areas covered are:

  • Korean economy and its foreign trade
  • the new multilateral round of the WTO and related trade issues
  • inter-East-Asia and inter-Korea economic relations and cooperation
  • FTAs and FDI, with special reference to Korea and its neighboring countries
  • trade liberalization and regionalism in East Asia
