Introduction
IIBD Case Competition is a competition for IIBD member universities worldwide. The purpose of IIBD Case Competition is to strengthen internationalisation through the enhancement of student and faculty networks, both social as well as professional. The Competition highlights the strategic challenges and managerial dilemmas faced by global business leaders. Students have to work under pressure to solve a real world business problem, using simulated business conditions such as time-critical deadlines and incomplete information, to formulate workable, action-oriented recommendations. It is a test of students’ creativity and problem-solving abilities. These students, tomorrow’s business leaders, will be better prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing global business environment.
This year the Competition has been successfully held
on 11 November 2008. The finalist teams received a real business case in
the morning then they took six hours to prepare their presentations to
the Panel of Judges in the afternoon. Based on certain criteria, the
Judges determined the outstanding teams for the following awards:
Gold Award: Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong
Silver Award: Simon Fraser University, Canada
Bronze Award: Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippines
Best Presenter: Mr. Cliff CHAN Hok Man, Hong Kong Baptist University,
Hong Kong
Awards were presented during the 2008 IIBD & LEWI International
Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship on 12 November 2008.
