About the programme
Launched in 1997, the IIBD International
Summer Institute (SI) had more than 500 MBA and senior undergraduate
students from all around the world attended this 3-week programme in Hong
Kong. As a participant of SI, you will find the programme challenging,
rewarding, and exciting both academically, culturally and personally. You
will learn from fellow students as well as from faculty from different parts
of the world. You will enjoy small group and class discussions, meet and
make friends with people from different countries who attend SI each summer.
The SI 2008 is organised by the Wing Lung Bank International Institute for Business Development (IIBD), an academic consortia
hosted by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).
Structure
Classes are scheduled from Monday to Friday in two sessions: morning and afternoon. Each course consists of 14 teaching days,
3 hours per day. The total number of contact hours per course is 42.
The first day of the Programme, i.e. 2 July is designated for registration and orientation and there will be no classes.
Final exams and presentation of testimonials will be scheduled on 24 July.
Each student can enrol up to two courses for the programme. In addition to classroom lectures, field trips and visits to
companies/government offices will also be arranged.
The IIBD Curriculum For SI 2008
The SI 2008 curriculum reflects its international nature. Two master degree level courses will be offered with two collaborating
universities, namely; Pace University in USA and Stockholm University in Sweden.
