The "East-West Encounters" programme aims to orientate newly arrived international exchange students at HKBU. It does so by dividing and mixing local and non-local students into groups. HKBU student ambassadors will assist non-local students to become familiar with the local cultures, customs and traditions. Activities involve visitng historical places or museums, attending cultural events or festivals and outings. The programme provides also great opportunities for non-local students to make friends with local students.
