OFFICERS & MEMBERS,
WESTERN DISTRICT AMBULANCE
AND NURSING DIVISION
Now-a-day the demand for First Aid services is ever increasing. In particular,
it is becoming increasingly diffcult to find volunteers who are able to
perform Week-Day duties, yet an indication of dedication is that unpaid
volunteers continue to clock up over 2,517 and 789 duty hours in 1994 by
members of your Ambulance and Nursing Division respectively which is almost
covering the following Public Duties: Foot-ball Matches and Rugby Games;
Karate and Judo Matches; Mini-car and Horse Racing; Ocean Park and Flowers
Exhibition; Carnivals and Chinese New Year Fireworks Display as well as
Marathon and other Sporting events.
As Area Commissioner of the Hong Kong Island Area Command, I feel confident
that with the enthusiastic and generous support of your Divisional Presidents
and close co-operation of your Divisional Surgeons, Officers and Members,
the division will continue to expend and give the community the best First
Aid and emergency ambulance services possible in the years ahead.
