The broadcast journalism (BJ) concentration aims at training broadcast journalists. Under this concentration, there are one news studio, two editing rooms and one equipment/technician room. The studio is used for producing radio news casts and television news casts for the Broadcast News Network, a broadcast station run by BJ students. Three studio cameras with teleprompters are set up in the studio to facilitate students' practicum work. Radio and TV editing machines are installed in the two editing rooms and students can do their editing assignments there under the supervision of technicians. Both linear and non-linear editing sets are available. Hi-8 cameras, digital cameras, MD recorders and other broadcast equipment are stored in the equipment room. Students can book the equipment for use throughout the academic year.
