Executive Committee Meeting (31 October 2008)

On 31 October, a special Executive Committee meeting (in the form of a conference call) was called to discuss the program proposals from thematic working groups and other important matters such as the election of the Executive Committee 2008-2010, review on research programs and the topic for the 2010 workshop/conference.

Important decisions were made at the meeting, which include: 1) regarding thematic working groups – to recommend the two proposals from the environmental and sustainability working group and the mobility working group to the Board for approval; 2) regarding the future development of research programs – to continue support the Europe-China Research Programme and the North America-China Research Programme in their existing format for the next two years (until the Board meeting in 2010), while reformulating the Western Pacific Rim-China Research Programme into a thematic programme in order to accommodate the future development of the two established themes; 3) regarding the topic for the 2010 workshop/conference – the research themes, i.e., environment & sustainability and mobility, could be chosen as the topic for the workshop/conference.
