Privacy Policy Statement
The Hong Kong Baptist University Library (Library) pledges to meet the standard of
personal data privacy protection in compliance with requirements of the Personal Data
(Privacy) Ordinance. Our private policy and practices conform to the guidelines of the
University's Privacy Policy Statement.
The Library will only collect the minimum personally identifiable information necessary
for providing effective services and facilities to our users. We will only keep the personal
data of valid Library users. Expired user records will be deleted periodically. Only authorized
Library staff with assigned password may access personal data stored in our computer
system for the purpose of performing library work. We will not disclose any personal data we
collected from you to any other party in a manner that would identify you.

You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data held by us.
Please present your library ticket to the Library Circulation Counter staff for any enquiries

Online Personal Information Collection Statement
This Personal Information Collection (PIC) Statement is given in compliance with the
requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to notify you of certain matters
concerning the specific collection of on-line information from you, and about yourself by
the Hong Kong Baptist University Library (Library).
The information collected from you is the minimum personally identifiable information
necessary for your use of our services and facilities. We will not disclose any personal
data we collected from you to any other party in a manner that would identify you.
When you visit the Library website, our computer system will only record non-personally
identifiable aggregate visitor statistics of your visit(s).
Any information you submit online is unsecure and could be observed by a third party
while in transit.
