The Department of Management houses three academic programmes ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate studies. The BBA, Human Resources Management Major, was launched in 1990 and ranked first in Hong Kong in recent surveys on the public ranking of universities, combines the rigor of a business degree with professional preparation to meet the need for human resources professionals within the local community and abroad. The PgD in Human Resources Management aims to develop the expertise in effective human resources management for the university graduates and junior HR practitioners. The MSc in Strategic Human Resources Management is an advanced HRM postgraduate programme designed to introduce cutting-edge practice in human resources management. The Department also offers the core management subjects required for the BBA (Hons) degree in Business Administration and selected subjects in the HKBU's MBA and MSocSc in Media Management degree programmes.
The teaching faculty comprise international and local academics, management professionals and practitioners. World renowned scholars join the Department as adjunct professors and teach on various academic courses. All our teaching faculty and visiting scholars have published extensively in academic and scientific journals and some have written outstanding books in their fields. In addition, most of them have solid professional and consulting experience in the business sector. They form a core team that is second to none in Hong Kong in terms of breadth of experience and academic stature.
