How to Join a Mailing List?

To join a Mailing List, you need to subscribe it first. Almost all of the Listserv Lists have information on how to subscribe a particular List.

For instance, you are interested in the following Listserv:

	MEG
	Marketing Educator's Group (MEG) is a professional association
	for marketing teachers and educators.

	To subscribe, send email to:
		mailbase@mailbase.ac.uk
	with a single-line message:
		Join meg firstname(s) lastname

	Enquiries    : meg-request@mailbase.ac.uk
	General Info : mailbase-helpline@mailbase.ac.uk
	Owner        : Dr Stephen K Tagg
	Home Page    : Marketing Educator's Group

To subscribe, you need to send an email to mailbase@mailbase.ac.uk:

In this case, you don't need to put down anything on the SUBJECT: field. The single-line message is all you have to put down in order to subscribe the MEG List. However, other Listservs may have slightly different instructions, so please make sure you CHECK the specific instructions before sending your email!

In addition, please note that there are two addresses for a Mailing List. One is called the ListServ address, which is the one you send your SUBSCRIBE or SIGNOFF (i.e., unsubscribe) commands. The other is called the list address (or list-mail address), this is the address where you send messages to others after you have joined the List.
