Early Childhood Education Division
The Early Childhood Education Division (ECED) of the School
of Continuing Education has assumed leadership in the provision of early
childhood education programmes for pre-service and in-service early childhood
educators in Hong Kong. The ECED currently serves about 2,000 students enrolled
in the Certificate in ECE, Higher Diploma in ECE, BEd in ECE, BEd(Hons), as well
as other courses commissioned by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region. The ECED training programmes are further supported by the
Hong Kong Baptist University Kindergarten established in 2000.
The School of Continuing Education now invites applications from dynamic
individuals with a strong commitment to teaching and research to join the team
of Early Childhood Education Division, one of the major providers in Hong Kong
for early childhood educators.
1. Programme Administrator (PR044/08-09)

The appointee is
expected to provide administrative and secretarial support to different
committees and day-to-day programme administration and coordination. These
duties include but not limited to new admission, subject registration,
examination and graduation as well as the management of the Universityˇ¦s Student
Information Systems.
Applicants should possess a recognized first degree with at least 3 years of
relevant work experience and preferably with a postgraduate degree. Candidates
should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese and
be fluent in Putonghua. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are
essential.

The appointee
will be responsible for (i) administrative duties including student admission,
registration, enrollment, student records maintenance, examination and
certification, and (ii) general office administration such as compilation of
statistics reports, committee work and supervision of junior staff.
Applicants should have a good first degree with at least 3 years of relevant
work experience; good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese;
mature personality with good communication and analytical skills; good
supervisory and leadership skills; and proficient in computing applications.
For Posts 1 & 2, shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a written
test.
3. Design and Production Officer

The appointees
will be responsible for producing artworks for publications and promotional
materials, performing web page design and maintenance and providing clerical
support whenever necessary.
Applicants should possess a university degree in graphic design or a related
discipline with some years of relevant experience. Competence in using InDesign,
Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as Dreamweaver and Flash, is essential.
Applicants must be able to work independently and preference will be given to
those with proficiency in PHP, XHTML and Javascript. Knowledge of web standards
will be an advantage.
For Post 3, shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a skill test.
Those who have responded to the opening of Multimedia Designer recently need not
re-apply.
Salary for all posts will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
