The appointee is
expected to perform the following duties: (i) To teach non-credit bearing
English courses, writing workshops, Self-access Language Learning and/or other
English courses offered by the Language Centre; (ii) To assist in the design and
production of self-access language-learning materials for English; (iii) To
assist in the design, preparation and revision of syllabuses and materials for
English courses; and (iv) Other duties as assigned by the Head of the Centre.
Applicants should possess an M.A. in a relevant subject or an appropriate
teaching qualification. Expertise in the design of self-access
learning materials and experience in the application of IT for language learning
would be essential. Some tertiary English-teaching experience would
also be desirable. Preference will be given to candidates who can
demonstrate practical experience in materials development for a range of
learning contexts.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for one year.
Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review and availability of
funding. The successful applicant is expected to assume duty on 1
October 2008.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Monthly salary ranges from HK$14,070 to HK$22,500.
