SINO-FOREST APPLIED RESEARCH CENTRE FOR PEARL RIVER DELTA ENVIRONMENT

(SINO-FOREST ARCPE)

 

Sino-Forest ARCPE is a newly established research centre in the Hong Kong Baptist University aiming to improve the environmental quality of the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region.   Sino-Forest ARCPE will create a platform for various stakeholders in Hong Kong and PRD to tackle the trans-boundary pollution problem at source, advocate the governments on environmental policy and provide solutions for the industry in the PRD region.   Research works of Sino-Forest ARCPE will concentrate in the following areas:

 

-     Environmental performance of the PRD industry

-     Environmental policy and community environmental education promotion

-     Waste treatment and recycling

-     Environmental monitoring and control

The Centre is now seeking suitable candidates to fill the following vacancies:

The appointees will assist in research projects conducted by Sino-Forest ARCPE.   Occasional travel to Mainland China may be required.

 

Applicants should possess a Bachelorˇ¦s Degree in Biology, Chemistry (preferably have experience in operating instruments such as GS-MS, LC-MS and/or ICP-MS), Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related disciplines.   Postgraduate research experience will be an advantage.  Good command of spoken and written English & Chinese, and good computer skills are required.  The appointees will initially be offered a fixed-term contract of one year and are expected to commence duty as soon as possible.  Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Fresh graduates with good potential will be considered.
