Research Associate / Research Assistant (PR082/08-09)

The appointee is expected to assist the Principal Investigator of a research project on Hong Kong Educational History during the War Years (1941-45). Major duties include library research and data collection, writing interview transcriptions, coordinating oral history interviews and other research duties. The Research Associate should also help to analyse interview data and draft project report.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in a History related discipline or Education Studies with courses taken in modern China or Hong Kong history. He/She should also have strong interests in modern Chinese history and Hong Kong local history, the Sino-Japanese war period in particular. Preference will be given to those with strong communication skills in Cantonese, Putonghua and English, good organizational ability, and ability to work independently. Knowledge and experience in doing oral history is a plus.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
