PPS Member's Profile: John Caris

Hello, my name is John. This first version of my Philopsychy Society Member's Profile was first submitted on August 23, 1999. I have been teaching English composition and Humanities, involving all the arts, for many years. I am a writer and have published two books. I am interested in all the arts--literature, music, visual arts, and dance--alchemy, and meditation or the raising of consciousness. You can contact me by e-mail at caris@westgatehouse.com, or by conventional post at:

56 Westgate
San Francisco, CA 94127
USA

My WWW home page is located at: http://westgatehouse.com/index.html.

Something I've written that might be of some interest to you is called Foundation for a New Consciousness. The book examines paradoxical thinking and shows that the arts form the basis for meditation and raising consciousness. It is self-published (printed and softbound). Westgate House 1987. It is available in computerized form at: http://westgatehouse.com/fnc.html

I've also written the following: Reality Inspector (Westgate House, 1982). This novel is about a world championship chess match and computer-hacking at the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco.

Other Society members are invited to contact me if they are interested in trading their writings for any of the above.

Finally, just so you can get to know me a little, here's something special I'd like you to know:
My thoughts about the spiritual quest are as follows: The spiritual quest has always involved journeying to the land of no-return and then returning bearing as many treasures as one can. If mysticism is nothing but dancing on the point of free will, then perhaps, what we learn in life is eternity.
