Hello, my name is Gary. This first version of my Philopsychy Society Member's Profile has been on the web since March 25, 1997. Currently, I teach adult education courses on philosophy; do professional speaking and offer seminars on psycho-philosophic topics; and would love to teach if not full-time then part-time at a university. I am currently completing a Ph.D. in philosophy. I earned a M.A. in psychology prior to entering the program. My area of interest lies in the philosophy of cosmology/nature; Plato, Hume, Kant, and especially Spinoza. I am especially interested in the metaphysical principle of 'order', and how it serves as the ontological foundation for union between individuals and nature. I am also very much interested in how our 'personal philosophies' come to shape the psychology of our worldviews. You can contact me by e-mail at gfinn@ziplink.net, or by conventional post at:

I do not yet have a WWW home page.
Something I've written that might be of some interest to you is called "The Order of Nature and the Nature of Order in the Philosophy of Spinoza". It is commercially published (in a journal): North American Spinoza Society (NASS, Monograph 2 1994). It is not available in computerize form.
Other Society members are invited to contact me if they are interested in trading their writings for any of the above.
Finally, just so you can get to know me a little, here's something special I'd like you to know:
I am passionately involved in the study of philosophy, with emphasis on
how the history of western thought has served to shape the way that we think about ourselves and the world. I would love to communicate with those who share a similar thirst for knowlege.
