Hello, my name is Keith. This revised version of my Philopsychy Society Member's Profile was submitted on 12/28/98. I have printed my introductory philosophy text, 'A Somewhat Sceptical Philosophy' and hope for help in selling it only to recover my costs. It shows ways in which science strongly supports American Pragmatism and it moves from this base to look at answers to the great questions that students love to ask. At the same time it tempers the use of such words as truth, existence and reality by suggesting that we restrain their meanings to what may be generally supported by science and pragmatism. It is areligious and ends with the closing paragraphs of Russell's 'A Free Man's Worship'. I am a retired Physics teacher. I have enjoyed pursuing the philopsophy of science and found new questions raised at every step. These lead on to questions about some of the great words that we use so easily and questions about the so-called meaning of life. I surmise that we are not handed anything beyond that which our culture has developed and that the meaning of life is no more than that which we as individuals can grasp and created for ourselves. Something I've written that might be of some interest to you is called A Somewhat Sceptical Philosophy: Science and American pragmatism unite to form the basis for answers to the so-called great questions of life. It is self-published (printed and softbound) by Philopsychy Press, 1998. It is available in computerized form at: http://members.tripod.com/~kdpalmer/skeptical.html
I've also written the following: An Introduction To Physics and Chemistry, Independent School Press 1975
