While in Romania, the following invitations were also accepted: (1) to lead a three-hour seminar with Professors Alan and Katherine Montefiori, on our approaches to teaching philosophy, for about 50 Baptist theological students at the University of Oradea, in Transylvania; (2) to speak on the topic ‘The Church in Hong Kong’ to over a thousand people at the Second Baptist Church in Oradea; and (3) to give a lecture on ‘A General Introduction to the Systematic Structure and Religious Significance of Kant’s Philosophy’ for the faculty members of the newly formed Department of Philosophy at the University of Timişoara.

·     Jan. 2001 to present: Founder/facilitator of the Center for Insight into Philosophic Health, Education, and Renewal, a philosophical retreat centre in Little River, California. Four retreats held so far, on the topics ‘Understanding Nietzsche—Halfway’ (Jan. 2001), ‘Preparing for Peace in the Face of Terror’ (Dec. 2001), ‘Why Do We Work?’ (June 2002), and ‘Rethinking Kant’s Philosophy of Religion’ (July 2002).

·     Sept. 1999 to present: Founder of the Hong Kong Philosophy Café. Chair of the Executive Committee since its formation in July 2000. Kowloon Branch Organizer from the branch’s formation in October 2000 to July 2003, and from July 2005 to present.

·     Nov. 2005: Adjudicated for a debate between the University of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong Baptist University debate teams, held at HKBU.

·     Feb. 2005: Adjudicated for a debate sponsored by SKH Holy Trinity Secondary School, Ho Man Tin, Hong Kong.

·     Feb. 2003 to Oct. 2004: Ex officio Council Member for the Learning Community College, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

·     Nov. 2003: Moderated a panel discussion (with Bishop Metropolitan Nikitas, Father Harold Naylor, Chief Imam Muhammad Arshad, and Rev. Eric Chung) on ‘What was it to be a Saint in the European Middle Ages, and what is it to be a Saint in the XXIst Century?’, sponsored by the HKMAES European Itinerary Film Club, held at the Alliance Française (Jordan Branch) in Hong Kong on 27 November 2003.

·     Sept. 1999: Adjudicated for a debate sponsored by the Speech and Debate Society at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

·     Sept. 1998: Adjudicated for a debate sponsored by the English Debating Team at HKBU.

·     Sept. 1982 to Feb. 1997: Leader of church-based weekly home groups: Shatin Anglican Church Cell Group (Feb. 1995 to Feb. 1997); Fo Tan Ambassador Fellowship House Group (Jan. to June 1992); St. Stephen’s Society [a Hong Kong organization for rehabilitating drug addicts and street sleepers] House Group (Mar. 1990 to Dec. 1991); St. Andrews Church [Oxford] Fellowship Group (Sept. 1982 to Mar. 1985).

·     Sept. 1991 to July 1996: Guest preacher at Hong Kong churches (approximately 20 times).

·     Jan. 1992 to Jan. 1994: Two year term as elder of Fo Tan Ambassador Fellowship, a Protestant Church in Shatin, affiliated with the Stewards’ ministries in Hong Kong.

·     Feb. 1984 to July 1987: Facilitator for ‘Ungroup’, a nonsectarian forum for the discussion of religious and philosophical issues, in Oxford, England.

·     Aug. 1981 to May 1984: Assistant Warden of the North Oxford Overseas Centre, a hostel for overseas students (mostly Asian and African), in Oxford.

·     June 1982 to Feb. 1984: Leader of a discussion group for young adults at St. Andrews Church, Oxford.

·     Sept. 1979 to Feb. 1980: Coach for an AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) team of 10-12 year old children, in Santa Barbara, California.
