Dear Colleagues, Alumni and Students,
Thanks to
your staunch
and
unstinting
support, the University has successfully secured
a total of HK$106 million
in
donations
and received HK$74 million in matching funds
from the University Grants Committee, by the
close of the Fourth Matching Grant Scheme on 28
February 2009. In terms of the total sum we
have received, amounting to
HK$180 million,
the University ranks fifth among the UGC-funded
tertiary institutions.
I would like to express my heartfelt
appreciation to all of
you for
your efforts,
which have contributed immeasurably to
the success of our fundraising work.
Without your timely and significant
assistance,
it
would hardly have been possible
for HKBU to secure a total of
HK$730 million
under the four rounds of the UGC Matching Grant
Scheme,
comprising
HK$454 million
in
donations and HK$276
million in
matching funds.
The
University
fully recognises
the importance of your contributions in
achieving this remarkable record.
Indeed, your
support has always constituted a
vital
element in our drive
to sustain the University’s development and
to
meet our goal of establishing HKBU as one of
Asia's most influential universities. The
