Instructions for Contributors

General Guidelines

      (1) Your paper must be reached our office no later than June 21, 2002, and at least one author of each paper must register for the presented paper.

      (2) Submitted paper should be no more than 4000 words, including list of references and appendices (about 10 single- spaced typewritten pages, A4 size). Paper over this length will be charged at US$30 per additional age; or otherwise the article will be arbitrarily cut at the indicated word limit.

      (3) You should submit a printout version of your paper, together with a 3 1/2" IBM compatible computer iskette containing your paper. The computer file format MUST be in Microsoft Word (2.0 or above) which can be operated in Windows 3.1 or above.

      (4) In addition, you MUST adhere to the following style guidelines, as our publisher requires it. Sample of the layout is attached for your perusal.

 Style guidelines

Title: It should be bold, in all caps and align left at the top of the first page. Use single space between title lines. (14 font of Times New Roman must be used).

Authors: Name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s), and keywords (maximum to 3 keywords) should be 1" indented and single spaced, beginning on the second line below the title. Do not use academic titles.

Abstract: Start the paper with an abstract of no more than 100 words. The abstract text should be single-spaced. (10 font of Times New Roman must be used)

Heading: First-level headings should be bold in title case. Second-level headings should be flush with the left margin and in title case. Do not use any other headings. (14 font of Times New Roman must be used).

Body: The body of he paper should be single-spaced. Use a First-Level heading after the abstract and before the first paragraph. (12 font of Times New Roman must be used).

Paragraphs: All paragraphs should be begun flush with the left margin and should be separated by a double space.

Paper Size: Set your paper size as 7" x 11". (The publisher requires this paper size and since the final output of your paper will be reduced to 80% in size, thus following to this instruction is very important).

Margins: Use 0.8" for the left and the right margins and 1.25" for the top and bottom margins.

Spacing: Use single space for the body of the paper. Use double space before and after first-level, second-level and table/figure headings, before and after the words appendix and references, after the abstract, and between paragraphs. Use triple space after the name of the last author before the abstract.

Tables & Figures : They should be placed as close as possible to the place where they are cited in the text. The headings should be centered, in all caps, immediately above the table or figure. Figures that cannot be printed out should be drawn with black ink on paper to meet the criteria of photo-reproduction. If separate files are used for figures/tables, they must be clearly identified on the diskette.

Endnotes: Number endnotes consecutively and place them at the end of the body of the text, before the references. Footnotes should not be used.

Calling References: Surname of author(s) and year of publication within parentheses should be used in the body of the text  to call references. Direct quotations also require page numbers. For example,

Multimedia training can be defined as ........ (Ranger,1989; Pears,1992).
‘Multimedia training allows cost cutting about 20%’ (Ranger,1989: p.53).


References: Reference should be written in the following formats:

Appendices: Any appendices should follow the references and be given alphabetical sequencing. The word APPENDIX should be flushed with the left margin and bold, in title case, above the appendix content.
