Chaplain’s Office hosts Founders’ Day Thanksgiving Service

The Chaplain’s Office hosted the 67th Anniversary Founders’ Day Thanksgiving Service in the University Chapel on 6 March to give thanks and celebrate the founding of the University. One hundred and thirty-five teachers, students and guests attended the Service.

Dr Clement Chen, Chairman of the Council and the Court, read the mission statement of the University, while Dr Alex Yu, a member of the Council and the Court, read Psalm 150 from the Bible to praise God at the event. In his sharing, Professor Ho Kin-chung, a member of the Court and Director of the Polar Research Institute of Hong Kong, encouraged the attendees to uphold the founding spirit of their predecessors and the core values of the University. He told the participants to be good stewards with the mission of serving society. Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, presented a souvenir to Professor Ho as a token of thanks on behalf of the University.

Samuel Chan, Chairperson of the Christian Student Union, shared how he experienced the grace of God through the campus ministries, his journey of faith and the sense of belonging he has developed with the University.

The Christian Band and Christian Choir performed and sang their praises to God, and Rev Tse Hung, Chaplain of HKBU, led the congregation to offer the thanksgiving prayer for the guidance and provision of God in the development of the University.
