Academy of Film alumni shine at Pingyao International Film Festival

Alumni of the Academy of Film clinched awards at the Pingyao International Film Festival. Chan Wing-ki, a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Communication (Honours) in Film (Film and Television Concentration), won the "Best Student Short Film" award for Game Rule, receiving RMB 30,000 for the development of her next film project. 

Wu Boping, an alumnus of the Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media, won the "Most Promising" award,  which comes with a prize of RMB 100,000 for post production costs for his film The Wasted Flower. 

Held at Pingyao, an ancient city at Shanxi, the Festival is one of the top festivals in Mainland China and participation is by invitation only. Only ten film schools in the Mainland and Hong Kong were invited to submit student work.  This is the first time that  HKBU has been invited to participate in the festival.
