HKBU and FAFU sign mutual postgraduate collaboration agreement

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU) have established a mutual postgraduate development partnership to nurture research talents for Hong Kong and mainland China.

 

A signing ceremony held on 17 May on HKBU campus was officiated by Mr Yan Jinjing, FAFU Party Secretary; Mr Lin Haosen, FAFU College of Life Sciences Party Secretary; Professor Rick Wong, HKBU Vice-President (Research and Development); Professor Huang Yu, HKBU Associate Vice-President (Mainland); Professor Zhang Jianhua, HKBU Dean of the Faculty of Science; and Mr Li Changsheng, Chairman of the Federation of Alumni Associations of Chinese Colleges and Universities in Hong Kong.

 

The collaboration, which is between the HKBU Faculty of Science and FAFU College of Life Sciences, will enable outstanding FAFU postgraduate students to visit HKBU and carry out research under the co-supervision of HKBU advisors.

 

HKBU will also offer the territory's first Bioresource and Agricultural Science undergraduate programme as one of the major studies in its Bachelor of Science degree from 2019-20. In addition, HKBU and FAFU are looking forward to further agricultural science collaborations.
