Wednesday, 24 Jun 2020

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has invited Mr Julian Law Wing-chung, Managing Partner of Jervois One, and Miss Angel Cheng Hoi-yan, Founder of Build A Music School and General Manager of Jervois One, as speakers of an online "SEED Talk" to be held on 3 July. They will share their remarkable career development stories and give insights into the challenges and opportunities for the public relations industry in the post-pandemic world and under the "new normal" of Hong Kong.

Mr Law and Miss Cheng are acclaimed public relations professionals. Both have stepped out of their comfort zones and used their professional knowledge and rich experience to change the world. Forgoing their stable jobs, Mr Law volunteered to serve in the Chief Executive election campaign, while Miss Cheng, who is an HKBU alumna, set up a music school in Myanmar.

The SEED Talk series is one of the Project SEED initiatives launched by the University, and it aims to nurture Students through Engagement, Enhancement and Development. Foreseeing the grave difficulties the graduating cohort will encounter during the current economic downturn, HKBU has been exploring practical ways to support graduating students under Project SEED. In particular, the initiative focuses on four core areas, namely SEED Mentorship, SEED Jobs, SEED Internship, and SEED Incubator.

By engaging thought leaders and experienced advisors and mentors with rich knowledge from a diverse range of backgrounds and disciplines, the SEED Talk series aims to nourish HKBU students, improve their competency, and provide them with a more enriched outlook as they chart their path for a fulfilling and rewarding life.

The talk will be held on 3 July (Friday) at 4pm. It is now open for online registration.
