HKBU congratulates Cheung Ka-long on clinching gold medal in Men’s Foil at Asian Games

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) congratulates its student Cheung Ka-long, a member of the Fencing Team of Hong Kong, China, for his outstanding achievement in winning the gold medal in the Men’s Foil Individual event at the Asian Games today (24 September).

Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Ka-long: “We are immensely proud of Ka-long’s remarkable achievement at the Asian Games. Apart from striking a balance between his studies and training, he made history in sports again with his unparalleled perseverance and relentless pursuit of excellence. I am thrilled to witness the rise of a generation of Hong Kong fencers, with Ka-long being a key member as shining stars on the world stage.”

Ka-long was awarded a scholarship under HKBU’s Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme to study in the Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation Management programme at the University.
