HKBU congratulates Cheung Ka-long on clinching gold medal in Men’s Foil at Olympic Games

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) congratulates Cheung Ka-long, a member of the Fencing Team of Hong Kong, China, for his outstanding achievement in securing the gold medal in the Men’s Foil Individual event at the Paris Olympic Games. This is a truly outstanding accomplishment for Ka-long to win a gold medal in two consecutive Olympic Games.

Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, expressed his heartfelt congratulations on Ka-long’s achievement: “The entire HKBU community as well as the people of Hong Kong are immensely proud of Ka-long’s achievement in winning a gold medal in the Paris Olympics with his brilliant performance and steadfast determination. Standing on the medal podium as the champion in two consecutive Olympic Games is testament to Ka-long’s capability as a top fencer in the world. It also demonstrates that Hong Kong has established itself as a major force on the world fencing stage.”

Ka-long was awarded a scholarship under HKBU’s Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme, and is currently studying the Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation Management programme at the University.
