The HKBU•Regal Holdings Golf Day 2012 held last Friday (1 March) at The Hong Kong Golf Club, Fanling attracted 150 HKBU staff, student and alumni as well as friends of the University who formed 38 teams to take part in the competition. The activity raised HK$1.28 million for the University.
This is the fourth year that Regal Holdings Corporation has supported the HKBU Golf Day as a title sponsor. The Tee-off Ceremony was officiated by Mr. William Leung, Treasurer of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor; and Dr. Ronald Lu, Co-Chairman of the Organising Committee of the event.
After a vigorous competition, the Regal Holdings 3 Team comprising Mr. Burton Chan, Mr. Manson Chan, Ms. Debby Chan and Ms. Lily Ho won the championship in the team event. The first runner-up prize went to Mr. Arthur Wu’s Team while the Legal Hackers scooped the third place. Once again, the Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association captured the Alumni Cup.
As for the individual prizes, Mr. Max Wong snatched the Net Score championship with Mr. Burton Chan claiming the first runner-up prize and Mr. Chiu Choi-lung and student Tang Zhifeng winning the second runner-up prize. Mr. Chiu Choi-lung won the Longest Drive for Gentlemen (on the 10th Hole) and Ms. Cheng Siu-ching won the Longest Drive for Ladies (on the 7th Hole). The winner for the Closest to the Pin (9th Hole) was Dr. Moses Cheng while Mr. Conrad Choi won the award for the Closest to the Pin (17th Hole). Professor Rick Wong captured the Closest to the Line on the 18th Hole Fairway award and alumnus Johnny Lo was the champion of the Putting Competition.
