International Festival brings diverse cultures to campus

The annual International Festival was held last week (22-23 October) to promote internationalisation on campus. Through a variety of activities, students were able to learn more about the history and background of the diverse cultures of different countries while the international and Mainland students also had the opportunity to get to know the unique culture of Hong Kong.

A series of activities was organised at the Festival such as global village, international photo exhibition, study abroad fair, Japanese Obento making and dance workshop, variety show, information session on the student exchange programme, etc. In addition, Mr. Scott Robinson, Spokesman and Deputy for Public Affairs of the Consulate General of the United States, Hong Kong and Macau, was invited to speak at a lecture entitled “Creativity Starts Local: The US Creative Culture Industry”, sharing how historical, cultural and other factors could have helped to drive the US creative culture industry.
 
The Festival was organised by the International Office, the Language Centre and the Office of Student Affairs.
