The Department of Computer Science held an exhibition themed “Cloud Frontier – Computing Gala” in Tseung Kwan O on 24 May, showcasing the information technology projects developed by its students. The event aimed at displaying the latest innovative technologies and sharing with the public the recent academic achievements of HKBU students. It attracted more than 300 participants including secondary school students and the general public.
The Honourable Charles Mok, Legislative Councillor (Information Technology) of the HKSAR, was invited to officiate at the closing ceremony. He shared his insights on serving in this sector and encouraged students to engage proactively in the development of Hong Kong’s IT industry.
The event included an array of presentations, demonstrations, games and interactive activities. Exhibits in the areas of Health Informatics, Location-aware Computing, Business Application, Natural User Interface and Entertainment were showcased. In addition, participants could vote for the Most Popular Project award and the Most Popular Demonstrator award during the event. Chan Sin-hang who developed the “AR (Augmented Reality) Memo Tool” won the Most Popular Project award, and the Most Popular Demonstrator award was presented to Yum Chin-fung who developed the “Instant Messaging with Privacy Protection” technology.
