HKBU members honoured for outstanding contribution to society

More than 10 members of the HKBU family were honoured by the Hong Kong SAR Government recently for their distinguished service to the community. 

 

Ir Dr Wong Kwok-keung and Dr Albert Hung, both Honorary Permanent Presidents of the HKBU Foundation, were awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star for their dedicated public and community service in various areas.

 

Mr William Au and Dr Stanley Lau, Sponsoring Members of the HKBU Foundation, were awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star for their long and meritorious service to the community.

 

Mr Francis Chau, a Social Work alumnus, was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star for his long and distinguished public and community service.

 

Professor Zhao Zhongzhen, Associate Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine, Mr Lam Fung-lam, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, and Mr Joe Lai, an Applied Physics alumnus, were awarded the Medal of Honour in recognition of their outstanding service to society.

 

Mr Lam Kwok-leung, a Mathematics alumnus, was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for Disciplined Services and the ICAC, while Mr Leung Shu-ming, a Social Work alumnus, was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service.

 

Meanwhile, Professor Jonathan Wong of the Department of Biology, the Honourable Cyd Ho, an English Language and Literature alumna, and Mr Kingsley Wong, a China Studies alumnus, have been appointed Justices of the Peace.
