The University announced the appointment of Professor Edward Snape, currently Professor of the Department of Management, to the post of Dean of the School of Business with effect from 1 September 2015.
Professor Snape joined the University in September 2008 as Professor in the Department of Management and served concurrently as the Head of Department. He had been appointed as Associate Vice-President for three years from September 2010 to August 2013, responsible for quality assurance and Quality Assurance Committee Audit follow-up as well as overseeing the areas of internationalisation and knowledge transfer. He is currently on leave to conduct research projects in the UK until 31 August 2015.
An outstanding scholar, Professor Snape has a distinguished track record of performance in teaching and research. His research covers a wide range of topics including human resource management, diversity and equal opportunities, employee commitment, leadership and industrial relations/labour studies. Professor Snape’s academic standing is widely recognised locally and internationally through the many invitations he has received from reputable referred journals to serve on their editorial board.
Apart from possessing a wealth of experience in university administration and management, Professor Snape is well versed in many other academic activities including accreditation and validation exercises. He has exhibited outstanding contributions to the advancement of business education through his scholarly publications, teaching and administrative involvement in the University and the community.
